Shape of the School

E-mail Print PDF

Haileybury Astana provides a unique educational opportunity in the capital of Kazakhstan.  The design of the School is a modernist take on Haileybury in the UK, with a large central tree-lined quad and amphitheatre, surrounded by classroom blocks, sports and cultural facilities and indoor play areas. At the heart of the school’s ethos are the needs of the children.  We cater for these needs by providing a nurturing environment providing opportunities for academic achievement and fostering individual talents and strengths.

The School follows the standards of the English Educational System and National Curriculum in Pre-Prep, Key Stage One, Two and Three, taught by teachers from some of the best universities in the UK.  Apart from languages, all teaching is conducted in English, with support from tri-lingual teaching assistants. Our classes are very well resourced with up-to-date resources, texts and schemes of work. We encourage our pupils to use ICT across the curriculum and every classroom is equipped with an interactive whiteboard. All pupils are expected and encouraged to speak English during the School day. Differentiated planning and innovative and highly effective teaching strategies ensure we are able to provide the children with opportunities to develop their academic and interpersonal skills whilst they learn and grow at Haileybury Astana.
