Key Stage Three and the future (Eleven to Eighteen years of age)

E-mail Print PDF

Key Stage Three teaching has commenced in September 2012.  This is an increasingly formal period of education for the pupils, and they are taught all subjects by specialist teachers in the medium of English.  The provision of subjects grows, with the introduction of Spanish as a major world language in addition to English, Kazakh and Russian. By Year 10 (Fourteen years of age), the pupils will select options and start the courses which will prepare them to sit the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examinations at the age of 16, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme examinations in the Sixth Form at the age of 18.  The provision of state-of-the-art facilities and resources in academic, creative and performing subjects with teaching via the medium of English is intended to provide the pupils of Haileybury Astana with the potential to access the best possible university education in the UK, USA and the rest of the world in the future.
